A year of 1000 Nos
There's this idea going around on TikTok as 2025 ended-- throughout the year, you need to obtain 1000 rejections. A rejection here doesn't solely include formal rejections ("I regret to inform you..." types). Things like emails going unanswered, content not getting the engagement you desired etc, count as a "No" towards your goal.
This resolution idea seems more attainable than all the other resolution ideas (getting fit, etc) I've heard of. It also has the inherent quality of being a SMART goal. It's measurable, attainable, etc.
I'm going to pursue this goal, though with slightly different parameters-- an attempt that might lead to a "No" counts as a "No" even if it turns out to be a "Yes". For eg, if you land a gig that you expected to get rejected from, it counts as a "No" towards your 1000 benchmark.
1000 No's per year is 84 Nos per month, and about 20 Nos per week. I need to catch up! Here are some Nos I am aiming towards this week:

Sign up for an in-person writing meetup that seems to be filled to capacity- email Ulta saying I'm getting married in a month (this is true btw) and ask them for a gift box
- email Costco saying that I'm getting married in a month and that Costco has been the main provider of groceries and everything for our family for the last 5 years. (An unanswered email is a "No")
- Sign up to be a dog walker and cat sitter on Rover
- Sell 5 things in your house on FB marketplace
- Make 2 comments on Benjamin's design doc

Go to the NYPL in Bronx and ask for a library card - Email Piscataway Mayor and tell them that the traffic light while taking a left is annoying and hard to read and that they need to fix it
- Ask the Piscataway library if they have any job boards for mom
- email someone from Claude or OpenAI and ask them about the requirements for the jobs they have posted. Also, ask them about the culture in Open AI and Claude and see if I like it. This counts as 2 goals
- Email someone in NYC about volunteering opportunities with animals. I would like to volunteer with dogs
- Email Mamdani's office and ask him for a job for Bhavani. List her credentials and see if she qualifies
- Email Chelsea Fannigan and tell her how much I love her content and if I can help her in some way. Is there a project she wants to start for lower-income women or something that I could participate in?
- Make a channel called cooking priconceptions and post one recipe while cooking. Aim for a low view count 🤣
